Harbours Collection 03 Lunde

Harbours Collection 03 Lunde - From steep cliffs in the High Coast archipelago we move on to Lunde hamn, a harbor that also bears the areas most dramatic history. Here, the military shot at civilians during a demonstration march that took place in 1931. Here, waves hit the harbor from the not yet completed Sandöbron bridge that collapsed in 1939. The whisky is unpeated and has been stored in barrels that previously contained peated whisky on the Scottish island of Islay, which means that the perceived peat comes from a place far from the High Coast.

Harbours Collection 03 Lunde is at its core an unpeated whisky, the average peat of the malt is only 0.2 ppm. Despite that, Lunde has a clear peat to it, with most of the peat coming from casks that were previously used at one of the Islay distilleries on the south coast. This gives a heavier and more maritime peat than we normally find in our bottlings.
