 From Bålsjön, filtered through sand and carbon filters

On the 3rd of January, 2019, 10 Oloroso casks were filled with peated whisky that had matured for 5.8 years in 1st fill Bourbon casks.

The Oloroso casks made of American oak, with a volume unusual for Spain of 200 litres, had been part of an experiment where they were filled with really old sherry which was then forgotten for many years.

The first release in the series is an 11 year old whisky. The selected casks contained our peated distillate which had first been matured for over five years in Bourbon barrels and then, since 2019, in experimental casks that have previously contained really old Oloroso sherry. Something special had been accomplished.

This was our first Special Release. A whisky that clarifies what we want to say with our new series.

Special Release 2024 consists of 100% peated whisky.

Special Release stands for the most exclusive we can find in the warehouses. The requirements are high, and it is only after careful evaluation that they can be approved as worthy releases in our new series.
