High Coast Small Batch is the collective name for the editions that are bottled in small editions for a selected and exclusive market. This release for Viking Line is a single cask bottling with non-peated whisky matured in American oak.
For each Small Batch, only one or a few barrels are selected. Each edition thus differs from its predecessors. Although the taste images are completely different, they still carry the High Coast signum – a clear distillery character with that little extra, their own style and expression. All Small Batch are naturally bottled without artificial colouring or chill filtration.
Small Batch 13 was bottled exclusively for Viking Line in 2020, in an edition of 324 bottles.
Small batch 13 consists of 100% unpeated whisky which has matured in a charred new American oak cask. Cask number #2012-438.
The barrel has until 2015 been stored in a damp warehouse and lost some of its alcoholic strength. From 2015 to bottling, it has been stored in a drier environment in Warehouse 3.
A total of 324 bottles were bottled for Small Batch 13 on 2020-01-29 and it was bottled exclusively for Viking Line.

Process water: From Lake Bålsjön, filtered through sand and carbon filters.

Batch size: 1200 kg malt / 6300 liters

Average fermentation time: 80 hours in stainless steel fermentation.
