Silent Mills 04 - Box
The Silent Mills series is based on Timmer in our Origins series and its peated flavor. A whisky created with the ambition to let the quiet peat sweep in like a veil of mist from the river. Silent Mills is also a tribute to the many sawmills that once lined the banks of the Ångerman River in the area where our distillery is now located. These sawmills have long since fallen silent.
The sawmill Box was named after the product it delivered, namely boxes intended for the English market. The sawmill burned down in 1890 and when a steam power station was built on the same site in 1912 it was given the same name as the old sawmill, Box. However, since December 23, 2010, this particular building has been used for something completely different, Whisky production. Silent Mills 04 - Box is, like all bottlings from High Coast, neither colored nor chill-filtered.
