The Archipelago 2019
Our Archipelago series celebrated five years with the release of the 2019 edition on board Viking Line Cinderella. As tradition dictates, it is a 100% smoky whisky at just over six years of age.

The fifth edition of The Archipelago is based on the successful bottling of The Festival 2018. That is, bourbon matured whisky finished in new American oak. However, the whisky for Archipelago 2019 has had to lie 4 months longer in new American oak than its festival counterpart. A complex, full-bodied and highly enjoyable whisky with all the characteristics that the series has accumulated, here in additional finely-tuned form. This one is also a limited edition that can only be accessed on board Cinderella.
The Archipelago 2019 contains no artificial colouring and is non chill-filtered.

100% peated whisky matured in 200 liter bourbon barrels for 5,42 years then finished in 40 liter new American oak casks for almost 18 months.

200 liter Bourbon barrels (Quercus Alba), delivered empty direct from Kentucky. 40 Liter new American Oak casks made and charred at Thorslundskagge in Sweden.
Until October 2014, our casks have matured in a damp warehouse, where they lost slightly more alcohol than expected. Since October 2014 until bottling, the casks have been maturing in a dry environment in warehouse number 3.
14/12/2018 the bourbon barrels containing 430 kilos of whisky, with an average strength of 59,03% abv, were emptied into our blending tank where we added water to reach the desired strength of 54,5% abv.
The Archipelago 2019 was bottled 17/12/2018 1000 bottles for the Cinderella Whisky fair and 23 bottles for use at fairs and tasting events.
We recommend that The Archipelago is allowed to breathe in the glass for a few moments to reach its peak. Add a few drops of water to help the aromas develop within the glass.
