Small batch 8 consists of 100% peated whisky, all of which has matured in 3 different cask types, a so called Triple wood. First 40 liter Hungarian oak casks, then Bourbon barrel and finally 40-liter Oloroso sherry casks.

Until October 2014, our casks have matured in a damp warehouse, where they lost slightly more alcohol than expected. Since October 2014 until bottling, the casks have been maturing in a dry environment in warehouse number 3.

01/10/2018 the casks were emptied and the strength reduced from 60,9%  to 56% abv.

In total 145 bottles were produced 02/10/2018 of Small Batch 8 which was sold exclusively to China.

Yeast: Fermentis Safwhisky M-1

Peated malt: Pilsner malt from Castle Maltings in Belgium.

Barely types: Prestige, Sébastian

Process water: From Bålsjön, filtered through sand and carbon filters

Cooling water: From Ångermanälven

Batch size: 1200 kg malt / 6300 liter wort

Average fermentation time: 80 hours in stainless steels washbacks.
