The loan

Current legislation means that we are not able to sell whisky directly to you. Therefore, the amount you pay is divided into a sum for the purchase of the cask and a sum that is a loan to us which is paid back when whisky is bottled. In return for the loan, we fill your anchor and reserve the content for you.

What your bottles will cost

When you bottle your barrel and pick up the bottles, you pay the last part of the cost of your finished whisky. It is alcohol tax, VAT and the delivery point’s premium. We do not know the final price per bottle until we have measured the exact alcoholic strength of your whisky and can calculate the tax.

Calculation examples of bottle prices in the various countries with current alcohol taxes, exchange rates and VAT rates. Note that in this example we counted on 68 bottles after 3 years of storage and a bourbon barrel which at the time of purchase costs SEK 21,400, of which one loan component of SEK 12,000. Calculated on 68 bottles and 58% alcohol, uncooked recipe for bourbon barrels, the price is calculated to pay at the pick-up as below.

The above prices are converted to Swedish kronor at the price Danish Kroner 1.30 and Euro 10 SEK. In Denmark, the bottles are paid in Danish crowns, in Estonia and Germany they are paid for in Euro. Please note that reconciliation of the current exchange rate is done at each handover time and can therefore deviate from the above example.

During maturation, about 3-5% evaporates every year, which means that the contents of the cask are reduced, therefore the number of bottles gradually decreases depending on how long the casks matures.

Refill, a perfect way to continue your whisky journey.

When you bottle your barrel, refilling is a great idea. Not only financially, as you already own the cask, but also taste wise. A refill gives you the opportunity to, for example, change prescriptions or to really use the taste profile that the dish built up.
